This week we continued working on our spring display
This week we continued working on our spring display. We finished off our ladybirds by adding the legs and the black spots. We looked at the lifecycle of the ladybird and how it starts off as a small yellow egg and goes through 4 other stages before it becomes an adult. We were so excited when we found some ladybirds in our garden during recess. Everyone gathered around to explore the colours and how many spots they had.
For math we continued with a spring themed subtraction worksheet which we did together in small groups.
During literacy we are continuing to practise writing words by sounding out each letter and blending them together, this week we spelt ‘ladybird’ and ‘cherry blossom’
To end the week we looked at some images of the most beautiful spring tree ‘cherry blossom’ some of us thought they were called magnolia trees and so we looked at the differences in both and noticed that the flowers on the cherry blossom are a lot smaller and more fluffy but both are very beautiful. We then went on to create our own tree using paint and sponges whilst trying to create our own flower shapes. We decided that during the weekend we would look around to see if anyone can spot a cherry blossom tree!
