Eslina turned three and had a unicorn themed party !
This week at school we continued to learn about Winter and the Cold.
For literacy we had to build some snowmen. The snowman had a picture on his head of the word we needed to make for example ‘bed’ and we had to work in small groups to sound out the letters in each word and try to find them to build the snowman. We also worked on matching Upper and Lower case letters such as ‘A’ belongs to ‘a’
For math this week we continued to work on adding together some winter clothing and writing our numbers the correct way. We did a fun umbrella colouring by numbers worksheet in which we had to match the number to the colour so all of our pictures look the same.
We did a lot of group activities this week working on our listening and friendship skills. We acted out some scenarios and then thought of ways we can deal with the situation for example ‘what would we do if one of our friends was sad’
We also had some fun games such as ‘pass the message’. We sat in a circle and whispered a word or a sentence into the next persons ear and continued it around the circle! We were laughing so much because it was never the original sentence!!
We also played a game of directions! We took turns being blindfolded and our friends had to give us directions to find the hidden toy. We had to go over, under, right, left, up, down, inside and outside!! That was so much fun!!
To end the week we learned about some winter animals. We made some beautiful winter tree pictures and used our fingers to paint the snow. Then we coloured in our animals and stuck them onto the pictures that are now displayed in our classroom.
The best part of the week is always when we have a birthday party!! Eslina turned three and had a unicorn themed party! She looked so beautiful and was so excited that it was her birthday! Thank you eslina for the lovely gifts and yummy cake!!
